Mukti and Revival is a rock band based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The band has been rocking the nation since last three decades. Mukti and Revival blends Nepali folk tunes with American Blues giving the taste of local flavor to their music. Making songs about politics, bureaucracy, love and simple rustic lifestyle in villages of Nepal has been a trademark for the band. The band tries to evoke variety of emotions in people from every age group through their lyrics. Their songs question, satire and raise awareness about pertinent issues in the society. Since 90s the band has been working to revive traditional charm in modern Nepali music.

The band was formed after Mukti Shakya came back with his wife and two sons from Spain to settle down in Kathmandu in 1992. Mukti, dormed the first Revival with Udesh lal, Sushil Sthapit and Nabin Tamrakar. As time passed there were many changes in the band members. The Band’s current line up are Mukti Shakya on vocal and guitars, Roshan Kansakar on bass, Sunit Kansakar on guitars and Nikhil Tuladhar on drums. Together they believe in creating sweet blues chemistry by sharing their notes and space as artists.

In mid 90s Mukti teamed up with a band of younger breed. Inducting Roshan Kansakar ( bass ), Rabindra Shrestha (on drum) and Binod Shrestha (on guitar), he'd made a surprising comeback and created strong waves in 2000 with their first album Kalanki Ko Jam. The band has been performing together since 1995.

Since, 2006 Mukti and Revival has been doing International Tours around the globe. The band has performed in USA ,Canada , Australia, Japan, Hong Kong Europe, UK, India, Sikkim, Shillongand Dubai .The latest international gig was at “Joon Festival” in London on June 2019. In Nation wide tour, the band has done concerts in many parts of the country from east to west. They have played on stage from stadiums to city hall. The band has also done numerous concerts for charity and cause. From concerts and gigs to international tours - they all highlight the niche that Mukti and Revival has notched up for the band in Nepali music industry.
